The Nervous Fellas play some Rockabilly Blues with a live cover of Sam “Lightnin” Hopkin’s “Finally Met My Baby” Rockabilly band The Nervous Fellas with Mark Twang & Ronnie Hayward and the Legendary Butch Murphy playing some Rockabilly Blues – Bluesabilly on the road in the Downstairs John at McMaster University Hamilton, Ontario “The Hammer” […]
The Nervous Fellas featuring on Slap Bass the young Buzzsaw Pete Turland who had joined the Nervous Fellas a year before replacing Rockin Ronnie Hayward when Ronnie went to Texas to join the band the Tail Gators.
Pete Turland came from London, England with the help of Roy Williams of Nervous Records U.K. Mark Twang contacted Pete and persuaded him coming to Canada would be a good thing. (He is still here over 20 years later so I guess it was)
We were lucky at that time to be managed by Laurie Mercer at Sam Feldman who bought and fronted us a return one year open ticket for Pete and a working visa for Canada.
Billy “Rockabilly” Rogers was on drums by this time with the Nervous Fellas in 1991 and was one of the best rockabilly drummers I ever played with or drummers for that matter.
Check out Mark Twang’s site for Vancouver, Canada’s Rockabilly Band The Nervous Fellas perform their theme song their version of Smiley Lewis “Real Gone Lover” from where they took their name.
